Alice is a hybrid loco in true narrow gauge fashion!

She is 'home built' (not by me!) on a steam loco chassis of 0-4-0 wheel arrangement.

The motor used is from a 12 volt lawn mower.

She is quite lively, and has a tendency to run away down hill!

With no brakes ( on the loco or train) careful driving is a must!

In 2002, I decided to give her a new coat of paint.

Newly painted in blue, Alice poses for a photo fresh from the paint shop.

Red lining was hand painted, and a new brass number plate made to complete the make-over.

Trouble is..........every one now says she looks like Thomas the Tank engine!! Perhaps I should have chosen brunswick green or maroon.
